Tony Banta

October 30, 2007

On the other hand, Who’s The Boss reruns do not crack me up. I missed that show the first time around and the reruns I’ve recently ran across (no cable in the garage) show me how little I missed.

And I never (and still) don’t get the Alyssa Milano thing.

The only way this would have been better is if she had thrown in a Boom Goes the Dynamite or two.

Keith Richards

April 5, 2007

“Keith won’t be doing a lot of publicity for this movie”

Really.  You guys didn’t think about this before you hired him?

Hello!  It’s KEITH FREAKING RICHARDS.  You know, the guitarist for the Rolling Stones, the one who looks like death incarnate?  The guy that threatened to slit Mick’s throat if he toured without them?  The one that needed brain surgery after getting too wasted and falling out of a tree last year?  The guy who will outlive cockroaches in the horrid event of a nuclear catastrophe?

You didn’t hire Mick, kids, you hired Keith.  And if you really thought he’d play along and do promotional work on your movie without the occasional hijinks, well, then you didn’t really put any thought into it beforehand.

This is the guy you hired:

Boom goes the Dynamite

March 5, 2007

I’m sure you all remember this (from March 2005):

I’ve watched it a hundred times and it’s still just as painful/funny/disastrous.

Well, two years later and Mr Collins seems to be doing fine for himself. Good for him.

John Belushi

March 4, 2007

John Belushi  died 25 years ago.

When I was in high school, I thought he was the funniest guy ever.  I still do.

From SNL to Animal House to the Blues Brothers, his work still stands out.

I still bums me out that he died.  And how he died.  What a monumental waste.
