25 Days

September 23, 2008

The gestation period for both ducks and mice is approximately 25 days.

This is also how long it has been since John McCain picked Sarah Palin as his running mate.  Since then, she has not held a single press conference with the national media.

I’m with Andrew Sullivan.  If this is allowed to continue, we are no longer a working democracy.

However, there are others out there who probably disagree. If so, please let me know why you think this is allowable.

Wedding Pictures

September 8, 2008

Here are a couple of photos from the wedding.

We’ll upload the rest of them to a photo sharing site once we get them and I’ll post the link.  You can click each photo to enlarge.

This blog is not dead!

August 17, 2008

Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.

You see, there was this wedding thing and it sort of took over my life.  And with our honeymoon coming up on Friday, there probably won’t be much going on until we get back. But once I’m back, everyone best just watch out!  There are a few things out there that need to be discussed, among them:

  • iPhone (love it)
  • Laptop Searches
  • The Indy 500 (jeez, that was months ago)
  • The presidential election
  • The NFL
  • Form without Function
  • All Grain Brewing
  • Raoul Wallenberg

Hopefully I’ll be able to get some wedding pics up before we leave but it may have to wait.

The Pesto of Cities

May 18, 2008

From the Seinfeld rerun we watched tonight.

JERRY: I don’t like pesto.

GEORGE: Where was pesto 10 years ago?

❤ minutes of dialogue>

JERRY: He’s from a.. Yakima, right?

ELAINE: Seattle.

JERRY: Everybody’s moving to Seattle.

GEORGE: It’s the pesto of cities.

I’ll see your Haystack Rock and raise you a Jug Rock

March 3, 2008

A commenter wonders how Haystack Rock stands up against the famous Jug Rock in Shoals, Indiana.

Well, Haystack Rock may be third largest natural seaside monolith in the world, but Jug Rock is the largest free-standing table rock formation in the United States east of the Mississippi River.

Take that, Haystack Rock.

What comes around goes around

Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus.

Chuckling Monkey

September 10, 2007

Hmmm. What’s that word… Motorizer? Moshunvation?

Oh Yeah.

Lately (as you may have noticed), I haven’t been motivated to do much blogging. I’ve sat down a couple of times over the past two weeks to throw an entry together and just couldn’t get all the way through one.

I’d like to say I have a great excuse, like ‘I was in Sweden Norway at the awarding of the Nobel Prize’ or ‘I was busy creating an all new life form’ but the truth is a lot more mundane.

We’ve had about three months of awesome weather every year since I moved here.

Until this year.

This year, summer never got here. We went from Spring right into Autumn. Or so it seemed. Then about two weeks ago the clouds cleared, the sun came out, and summer finally graced us with it’s presence. And with the threat of rain right around the corner, I feel impelled to spend as much time as possible outside.

But soon, the rain will be here and I’ll be back in front of the computer, blogging myself out across the internets. Even if no one is reading, I’ll probably still be writing.

Until Then:
