I’m with Andrew Sullivan. If this is allowed to continue, we are no longer a working democracy.
However, there are others out there who probably disagree. If so, please let me know why you think this is allowable.

Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.
You see, there was this wedding thing and it sort of took over my life. And with our honeymoon coming up on Friday, there probably won’t be much going on until we get back. But once I’m back, everyone best just watch out! There are a few things out there that need to be discussed, among them:

A commenter wonders how Haystack Rock stands up against the famous Jug Rock in Shoals, Indiana.
Well, Haystack Rock may be third largest natural seaside monolith in the world, but Jug Rock is the largest free-standing table rock formation in the United States east of the Mississippi River.
Take that, Haystack Rock.

Oh Yeah.
Motivation.
Lately (as you may have noticed), I haven’t been motivated to do much blogging. I’ve sat down a couple of times over the past two weeks to throw an entry together and just couldn’t get all the way through one.
I’d like to say I have a great excuse, like ‘I was in Sweden Norway at the awarding of the Nobel Prize’ or ‘I was busy creating an all new life form’ but the truth is a lot more mundane.
We’ve had about three months of awesome weather every year since I moved here.
Until this year.
This year, summer never got here. We went from Spring right into Autumn. Or so it seemed. Then about two weeks ago the clouds cleared, the sun came out, and summer finally graced us with it’s presence. And with the threat of rain right around the corner, I feel impelled to spend as much time as possible outside.
But soon, the rain will be here and I’ll be back in front of the computer, blogging myself out across the internets. Even if no one is reading, I’ll probably still be writing.

Curb Your Enthusiasm

One of the HR ladies just came by my desk and dropped off a couple of St Patrick’s Day trinkets. There’s a green bubble blowing thingy and a green fortune cookie.
I appreciate the sentiment but I have a couple of issues (don’t I always?).
1. The fortune from my cookie said, ‘Irish for a Day’. No matter how you spin it, that’s not a fortune. If you give me a fortune cookie, it better have a fortune.
2. I’m a big fan of Multiculturalism, but St Patrick’s Day Fortune Cookies? I don’t know a ton about Irish history but I’m pretty sure it doesn’t involve a lot of Chinese cuisine. Maybe a bag of Green Potato Chips, but Fortune Cookies? Or what about a nice cold pint of Guiness?
