Still impressive, 200+ years into this crazy experiment.

Here’s the first set of wedding pictures from our photographer. Most of them are good but I’m less than thrilled with the posed picture of the groomsmen pointing at the camera. Not only did I feel like a fool when we did it, I also look a little too ferret-like in the photo (ah, my vanity gets me again).
(I’m trying out Picasa for photo hosting and so far so good. It’s got a simple editing tool that can be used to make quick fixes to pictures and it uploads at the click of a button)

Here are a couple of photos from the wedding.
We’ll upload the rest of them to a photo sharing site once we get them and I’ll post the link. You can click each photo to enlarge.

Had a great New Years with friends. We went to the Asteroid Cafe in Fremont for an excellent meal and then came back to the house to celebrate the arrival of 2008. We watched the Space Needle Fireworks on television, had a couple glasses of beer/wine and headed to bed at a (relatively) decent hour.
(Also, I assume that my newly found concern with ‘being out on the streets’ after midnight on NYE must have something to do with turning 40 this year.)

The main reason I’m heading home is because my Dad is receiving an award from the Indiana Historical Society for his recent book, Travels with Susie (available at Amazon).
It’s a great book and I’m really excited that he was recognized for his work. If you’re ever sitting in your cube at work, wondering if you have what it takes to write a book, he is proof that it’s possible.

No posting for a couple of days as we’re heading west towards the Hood Canal for a Thanksgiving extravaganza.
We got a house full of people, a turkey to fry and all of the fixings. My brother and a friend of ours from High School are in the air, winging their way towards Seattle as I type.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
