October 30, 2007On the other hand, Who’s The Boss reruns do not crack me up. I missed that show the first time around and the reruns I’ve recently ran across (no cable in the garage) show me how little I missed.
And I never (and still) don’t get the Alyssa Milano thing.

Explosive Tacoma
October 9, 2007On Saturday 10/6, a propane truck exploded at Atlas Castings & Technology down the road in Tacoma. Four people were hurt, one critically, as the place went up in flames.
Here’s a video of a huge explosion during the fire. I love the guy off screen. His instinctive reaction is excitement and awe followed by an obligatory moment of worry for others.

Cowboy Cleaners
October 8, 2007I saw this van at the Grocery Store down the street.
My initial thought was, “Since when are Cowboys clean?”
Then I see the hairy chest. “Hmmm. I think I might be missing something”.
Perceptive guy that I am, I finally notice the pink triangle. “Aha.”
But I still don’t get it? Who the hell wants a to have a cowboy clean their house, even if he’s a gay cowboy. It’s like asking a Biker Gang to provide security at a rock festival.
(OK , so it’s not that bad)

This past weekend
October 8, 2007This past weekend was a big one at the Chuckling Monkey household. On Friday night, atop the Space Needle, I surprised the soon-to-be Mrs Chuckling Monkey by getting down on one knee and asking her to marry me. Lucky me, she said yes.
Then on Saturday, I celebrated my 40th birthday. Talk about just beating the shot clock.
I owe a big debt of thanks to Alli for helping me get Michele to the top of the Needle. It was an elaborate ruse with a bunch of moving parts and I’m kinda surprised we pulled it of.

Things I never thought I’d see…

Rain! Snow!
October 4, 2007Autumn in Seattle = Rain.
Lots of rain. Ubiquitous rain. The rain that helps define life in the Pacific Northwest for six months a year.
But usually (depending on El Nino, La Nina, Nina, Pinta, Santa Maria) rain down here means:
Snow in the Mountains! Hello Ski Season!
